By Road: Kasauni– Delhi (14 hrs), Nainital-Kasauni (6 hrs), Almora-Kasauni (3 hrs), Ranikhet-Kasauni (4 hrs). By Rail: Nearest rail station is Kathgodam (35 kms south). The Ranikhet Express departs from Delhi at 11 pm and arrives in Kathgodam at 6.10 am. It departs from Kathgodam at 10.45 pm and arrives in Delhi at 4.45 am. NEARBY PLACES: Nainital: The most pleasant hill station to visit in this area with interesting walks through the forests to points with superb views of the Himalayas. Almora: is a picturesque hill station and is famous for the Kasar Devi Temple where Swami Vivekananda came to meditate. Ranikhet: This peaceful hillstation offers excellent views of the Himalayas with several good walks. Baijnath:19 kms north of Kasauni through the forests are the 12th century temples. Bageshwar: 41 kms from Kasauni is this pilgrimage town which has the Baghnath Temple, Baneshwar Mahadev Temple and some nice ghats and bazaar backstreets. Binsar: 34 kms from Almora, Binsar has a beautiful bird sanctuary. It also provides spectacular views of Nanda Devi and other Himalayan peaks.
