This program takes you to the enchanting locales of Darjeeling and Sikkim. You start your journey from the capital city, Delhi. Fly from Delhi to Bagdogra, from where you will drive to Darjeeling. You spend two nights here, touring the splendid tea gardens and towns surrounding this Queen of the Himalayas. Take in the fresh mountain air and feast your eyes on the luxurious greenery. You can go to the Botanical gardens. You must not miss the sunrise from Tiger Hill. Another must see is the Ghoom Monastery.
Next you drive to Gangtok, visiting Rumtek monastery en route. Rumtek is the seat of the Karmapa, the spiritual leader whose monastery is the largest in Sikkim and is adorned with elaborate frescoes. You spend two nights in Gangtok: the orchid sanctuary, Institute of Tibetology, and Enchay Monastery are some of the sites to visit during your stay in Sikkim's capital.
Drive to Kalimpong for a night. Its mild climate has led to its becoming a center for plant cultivation and nurseries. Visit Zangdophelri monastery, as well as the gardens that thrive here. Drive to Bagdogra for your departure flight to Delhi.
