Your trip begins in the capital city of Delhi. You will tour the city’s major sights including the stately India Gate, the sprawling Red Fort and the serene Lotus (Bahai) Temple. The next destination is the city of Agra. The drive from Delhi to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri is an interesting ride, as you will see the everyday face of India. The main entrance is through the 54m high Bulund Darwaza or the Tower of Victory built to commemorate Akbar’s victory in Gujarat. You will also see among other monuments Jodha Bai`s Palace, Panch Mahal, the Diwan-I-Khas and the Diwan-I-Aam. You visit the Agra fort, a massive sandstone fortress started by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and completed by his grandson Emperor Shah Jehan. Once in Agra you must visit the stunningly beautiful Taj Mahal. You can go around the city and also visit Itmad-ud-Daulah, the tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg. Return back to Delhi.
You then take the flight to Jaipur also known as the Pink city. One can breathe in the regal charm, witness the splendour of Rajput architecture, indulge in royal games like polo or go on safaris. Here you can visit the Amber fort situated on a hillside, a classic Rajasthan fort-palace. The City Palace is also worth a visit. From Jaipur you fly to the regal city of Jodhpur. Your tour of this desert city takes you to one of the most imposing forts the Meherangarh Fort, with its intricately carved sandstone edifice setting, seemingly impregnable and built a top a 400 ft high rock. Close to the Fort is The Jaswant Thada, the royal crematorium and a cenotaph of the rulers of Jodhpur built in translucent white marble. Walk through the colorful bazaars where one can shop for textiles, handicrafts and clay figurines.
The next stop is Udaipur. One of the most romantic cities of Rajasthan, Udaipur is better known as the city of lakes. Your tour takes you to City Palace -- towering over the lake, this is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, the main part of the palace is preserved as a museum with a large & varied collection of glass, porcelain figures & miniature paintings. Another must see is the Kumbhalgarh Fort. It's worth taking a leisurely walk in the large compound, which has some interesting ruins and is very peaceful. Flight back to Delhi.
