How to Prepare
While you need to be reasonably fit to be able to ride on horseback, polo is a sport where the horse is the one actually carrying your weight. Average fitness is all that is required to be able to enjoy the thrill and excitement of this primeval sport. While there is an element of risk in any adventure sport, all the rules in polo are geared towards ensuring the safety of players and ponies. Safety is the keyword in polo classes and the instructors ensure that you get the 'hang' of the game in a safe and secure environment. Programmes are designed to cater to all levels of skill and experience in the game. Even if you are a complete novice at polo, the package ensures that you learn all the nuances of the sport in the shortest possible time.

This is an indicative itinerary which can be fully customised for you

Rajpath Delhi

Anokhi Jaipur

Anokhi Jaipur

For nine days you explore the three most popular destinations in India, combining the Mughal splendors and bazaars of Delhi, Agra's Taj Mahal and the markets and palaces of Jaipur’s Pink City. To top it all, you will be introduced to the game of kings, Polo, at the Jaipur Polo and Equestrian Academy, situated in the picturesque surroundings of Anokhi Village.
Your trip begins in the capital city of Delhi. You will tour the city’s main attractions including the stately India Gate, the sprawling Red Fort and the serene Lotus (Bahai) Temple. The next destination is the city of Agra. The drive from Delhi to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri is an interesting ride, as you will see the everyday face of India. Once in Agra you can visit the Taj Mahal. You can go around the city.

You travel by road to the Pink city of Jaipur. From here you travel to the charming Anokhi Village, just 5 kms from Jaipur airport, which is the perfect place to learn polo. Your lessons for basic Polo begin with experienced tutors, stick and ball sessions on wooden horses and horse rides along the trails. One can even ride along numerous exciting trails. In the afternoon you go sightseeing to the Amber Fort. The next three days you spend at Anokhi getting a hang of the game or if you are an expert, getting better at it. You head back to Delhi by road.
