This program starts in the capital city of Delhi. Spend two days touring this city of great heterogeneity. The next city you fly to is a powerhouse of cultural traditions, none other than Kolkata. You should visit its numerous museums. A must see is the Eden Gardens, recognized as one of the largest cricket stadiums. You can also make a trip to the Salt Lake Stadium, the biggest in Asia. After a two-night stay in Kolkata you will travel to Lucknow. Known to have been the centre of the Nawabs of Avadh, Lucknow is situated along the banks of the river Gomti. The huge mausoleums of the Nawabs are an interesting place to visit. You can visit the tomb of Bara Imambara that provides an excellent view of the city. Another must see is the Rumi Darwaza, a huge 60-feet-high door also known as the Turkish Gateway. |
